Earthquake
Whoah! Have you felt that!?!?!? Its almost 11pm here in Makati and all of the sudden my workstation somewhat moved. I looked at my office mate and we got the feeling that this is an earthquake already. Everybody stood up and went to the sides of the building , under the doors, but we didn't go down yet (were on the 32nd floor of Robinson's Summit Bldg). It was almost a minute or more. This is the first time that I'm on a high rise building during an earthquake. Wonder how strong the quake was. I immediately called home to check on my wife and kid. They said they felt the quake too and it was strong enough to wake them up. Imagine that! I'm here at makati and we live at Valenzuela and they still felt it strong.
What a day @_@

Work Station Blues
The biggest headache I always have is finding my "usual" workstation messed up by someone who is using it during my rest days or before my shift, IT Dept deleting my files intentionally that its like they are STALKING me and my PC and having to move to another part of the buiolding since our team will be relocating. So this means I wont be using my "usual" workstation anymore, which has my downloaded MP3s, files, software, work and non work related documents.
So as of this moment I am using another workstation and I have to do a heck of configuring this to suit my working style.
Now I have to plan where I should sit next week so I can do my "underground" stuff...he he he....

Shift Bid
Yep, it's that time again this quarter of the year, but this time I won't obliterate someone. Why? because I got priority number 2! Egads! yes 2! he he, i was really surprised two since I already have two unplanned PTO's for this quarter and I got the second priority out of 48 people on my team.
I think I'll stick with my 5Pm schedule. Not so much Sups at that time , so marami time mag "petiks" ^_^

Hey have you heard this story?
The story of the UP Ikot driver who switched his jeepney route because he saw something in his rearview mirror: he said to her, his only passenger, "Miss, miss, when you get home, take a good bath and burn the clothes you're wearing. I saw you headless when I looked in the mirror." Spooked out, she thanked him and in a rush, got off the jeep. It was his good deed for the day.
When he reached home he found his wife in bed under the sheets. When he pulled the sheets down to kiss her awake, he saw that it was she who was missing a head.
spooky! ^_^

"Classic" Comics
It's been a comic reading week for me. I've been indulging myself with some old comic books downloaded from the net. I was only able to read the "Infinity Gauntlet" book and not the entire series which spans to 6 sagas during my high school days. I'm still at the Infinity Crusades saga, can't wait to read 'em all ^_______^

What do I remember the about my trip to Marinduque last weekend for the first time...4 hour sloowww Bus trip, 4 hour boat ride with a room full of LOUD, undisciplined, annoying passengers who happens to know each other by the 4th degree, scorching "provincial" summer heat accompanied with occasional dust touching your sweating skin and people talking to your but can't seem to undestand what the hell they are talking about, undrinkable water, and no decent food even on the town center.
And ohh yeah, you know what my souvenir for that trip was? large mosquito bites, which reminds me never to take that trip next year.

Time alone has given me a new way of looking into life. I often get too attached with responsibilities and tasks that life seems to be an endless cycle of routines. All black and white.
Now after having more time reflecting, alone in this empty house. I find a deeper meaning in what life should be. I see people miding their business, having their own lives, apart from me. Having their own dreams and goals in life, but still, have time enjoying each others comfort. Deep inside, I envy that.
I spend too much time in work that I often left out the biggest part of my life, my family. But i've learned my mistake.
Soon I'll be spending my time again with my family, and looking forward for a fresh start. I want to see my son grow. I don't want to make the same mistake my father did. I want him to see a father. A father and a family.
That should be the story of my life.

What I hate on my 9am to 6 PM training shift:
Im so glad this is my last day in CS training.
Tomorrow its back to normal for me.
- I wake up earlier than usual.
- Travel time is always 2 hours, which usually around less than an hour only on my regular shift.
- My Body Clock is disorganized
- Going home at 6PM is HELL, with the traffic.
- I am totally physically drained by 8PM
Im so glad this is my last day in CS training.

Calling LOCAL TECH Support.
Me: Hello, is this <*bleep*> ISP tech support?
Geeky Agent: Yes sir.
Me: umm, I'm having problems with my connections. Is there another dial-up number you have there that I can use? I already used the other numbers indicated on the card but it seems that theres no transfer of packets occuring when I do connect.
Geeky Agent: (trying to be cool) Sorry sir, we only have those 3 dialup numbers.
ME: Ahh I see. so are the lines congested during this hour?
Geeky Agent: No Sir. Let me just give you our DNS numbers. (ahh you do have DNS numbers, WHY ISN"T IT INDICATED IN THE CARD!)
Me: OK.
Geeky Agent: What Windows version are you using?
Me: Wait. Just give me the DNS numbers, I know how to set it up.
Geeky Agent: OK. the numbers are blah blah blah..
Me: Thanks!(End call)
So I entered the numbers, and voila! Nothing happens.
Riinggg....
Agent : Hello my name is Dennis how may I help you?
Me: Umm OK, I just called a while ago because I'm having problems with my connections. I connect fine but there is no throughput.
Agent (which is by the way gay): throughput?
Me: err "wla syang response" The other Agent gave me DNS numbers but I still can't download data.
Gay Agent: OK sir the problem may be gasp..., is with your Internet Explorer. We may have to reinstall it. (That drastic?)
I let the gay, umm guy walk me through it just for fun.
Me: ummm OK. What do I do?
Gay Agent: First umm, please click My Computer, then Control Panel..blah blah blah...
The agent really isn't sure of what he is doin.
Me: So OK. I have reinstalled it, will this resolve it?
Gay Agent: Yes sir (gasping again..) that will... (CLICK!!!)
Girl Agent: Hello I'm Michelle, how may I help you..
Me: What the ? Huh? I was just talking to your other agent, what happened? Anyways I'll just try what he said. Thanks.
Agent Michelle: Ok Sir. Thank you for calling.
Guess what it didn't work.
Rinngggg...
Agent Michelle (again): Hello, blah blah blah...
I explained my wittyful encounters with the other tech support.
Agent Michelle: OK sir lets try this, please type "netsh ip"' umm "intresetlog.txt", wait thats "net space ip space int resetlog.txt", uum yah thats it.
Me: OK.
Agent Michelle: WAIT SIR! Don't press Enter key yet!!!!, I got it wrong its "netsh int ip reset c:resetlog.txt" (ha ha! I thought she wouldn't correct me, since I knew the syntax was wrong)
Me: So OK. What does this do (playing newbie)
Agent M: ummm, what does this do...ummm (with unsure tone) it resets TCP/IP settings?. Please try connecting again.
ME: OK. (END CALL)
Again nothing happens.
Riingggg....
Gay Agent Dennis again: Hello this is blah blah blah..
Me: Hey, ikaw yung nakausap ko kanina right? Well its still not working.
MENTAL NOTE: There maybe only 3 agents for this Local ISp's TECH Support. Perhaps they are dreading to take my call.
GAY AGENT: (with a "why me again?" tone of voice while gasping) ahh ok sir , the problem really is in your Internet Explorer.
Me: But it happens when I also use Opera.
Gay Agent: ahh Opera, ummm opera opera (again with a "why me?" deep breathing), sir ...ummm (pause and another set of ummmss and ahhhss) Please lets try changing your browser settings to default. (AS IF IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE)
Me: ahhh ok, Ok i know how to do it., I'll just call if it's still not working.
Gay Agent: (relieved) OK sir, thank you for calling.
I obviously did not do it. In the end after a few sets of funny unsuccessful calls, I decided to leave the matter to my own hands and I did a Windows System Restore and everything went perfectly fine.
Well at least I had a taste of a local ISP support, so if your a techie who wants to have a good laugh, i recommend calling one today. :)

Reality in Friendster.
I bet most people out there know Friendster. It's probably the "In" thing in your cyberlife. The concept really is (oh I bet ya know), seeing people you know, know people you know up to the 6th degree. Chances are, the world of cyberspace will be smaller and smaller.
In reality, that's true. Last Thursday I met my ex-girlfriend's best friend, whose the girlfriend of my officemate's best friend (got it?), applying for a job here in PS.
Scenario: Jett and I was just about to take our usual 10am break. I finished my last 2 emails for that hour when I suddenly realized Jett's talking to someone from the pantry. So I went there to ask if were gonna take our break or do it later. He happens to be talking to his bestfriend who was applying for a job here in PS. He introduced me to his bestfriend who happens to have his girlfriend sitting beside him, so Jett also introduced me to the her and the girl smiled and said "I already know him..." , which is much to my surprise.
It took me about 15 minutes to remember her name and who she was. Well it's been 10 years since we saw each other so gimme a break. So the girl was my ex-girlfiend's best friend in High School who is currently the girlfriend of my officemate's best friend.
Now isn't that much like Friendster?

Cycle
Home -> 7-11 -> Office -> McDonalds -> Home.
This has been my routine for almost 5 months now and I really got used to it that way. The change of schedule on Monday will definitely re-arrage that routine. But I welcome that, my new sched mates are mostly from my batch so it will be loads of fun. Although Jett (my sched partner for almost 5 months now) will still be in GY (12:30AM) shift. It would have been great if he had the sched like ours.
What will my new cycle be?
Home -> ??? -> Office -> ??? -> Home
I'll know on Monday.

Currently listening to : Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved
Buy this album!
From the album "Songs About Jane"
Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
She always belonged to someone else
I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I've had you so many times
But somehow I want more
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore
It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along
My heart is full and my door's always open
You can come anytime you want
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
I know where you hide alone in your car
Know all of the things that make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Comes back and begs me to catch her everytime she falls
Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
Again, I'll just settle for MP3s...(ha ha...)

My inner child is sixteen years old!
Life's not fair! It's never been fair, but while
adults might just accept that, I know
something's gotta change. And it's gonna
change, just as soon as I become an adult and
get some power of my own.
How Old is Your Inner Child?

In Borgy Manotoc 's article "The mind of a Manila man", posted at Inquirer News Service, he wrote,
"HOW do beautiful women keep men at bay? Do they beat them off with a stick? And why is it that men who make up half of the world's population are never faced with this problem?
I've never known a single man who has complained about women lusting after him. Could it be that even in this modern world, women still expect a double standard when it comes to male-female relationships?
Who am I kidding? We're in the Philippines. Of course, they do. Let's take the whole courting process that we, poor males, have to endure in the hope of gaining a woman's interest, which lasts just a tad longer than the time it takes to gulp down a beer."
I never really believed or practiced the traditional courting ways of most Filipino men. I mean, flowers and chocolates? Yes of course most women want those but it really depends. Most women I know go for more that what a man can buy her (I hope I'm right ). Getting to know the person and spending quality time rather than tokens of monetary status is is much better IMHO.
And this goes to women as well, Ha!
Too bad, I can't go to that stage anymore...It sucks to be me.

WHAT DO I DO
Nyoy Volante
Acoustics: Nyoy With Mannos [2003]
INTRO
What would you do if I told you that
All that I do's think of what we had
What would you do if I'm not the friend I used to be
Well, at least, not to me
REFRAIN 1
'Cause I can't get over all the times you stay
Get crazy, jealous every time you're away
Now I'm someone different from the one you knew
Had nothing to feel for you, to feel for you
CHORUS
What do I do
I keep calling out your name
What do I do
I got no one else to blame
What do I do
Every time I hold your hand, it's not the same
What do I do
I think I fell in love with you
What can I do, what can I say
Everything keeps changing every night, every day
Every word so diff'rent, every touch so real
Every glance and every look reveals the way I feel
REFRAIN 2
No, it's never ever gonna be the same
When we hug for warmth from the cold of the rain
Yet I'm not gonna move on, not gonna change
Though I find it hard to say, baby
[Repeat CHORUS]
BRIDGE
I don't know what to do
I'm fallin' more for you
Baby, please tell me...
[Repeat CHORUS]

So I finaly got the Microsoft Security Update CD, which I spent 30 bucks just to get it from Makati POst Office Customs Department with a combination of filtering sweat and burning 11AM sunlight where I usually got it for FREE and without the scorching summer heat when they send it to Caloocan.
The mark says on the CD,
"SUBJECT FOR CUSTOMS INSPECTION"
The hell, whats wrong with a 2 CD envelope? Blasted Makati Post Office.
Next time, I'll have them delivered at home.
Anyways, I was able to update my XP Service pack using the CD.

Then I thought yesterday would be a productive day, instead of sqeeezing my brains out...
I ended up playing Ragnarok all day ^_^. But this is no ordinary Ragnarok game, I was playing it OFFLINE ! He he I managed to buy a CD of it at Caloocan that lets you run a server locally and play it without going online ^_^ Saves me money my ISP and LevelUpgames.

RANT MODE:
So I guess I was wrong when I thought It's gonna be great weekend...I just got my QA evaluations for this week just this minute and I flunked 2 sessions for a measly "We do no dot his anymore" reason by QA. Hell, I've been using that template for so long now and I WASNT deducted points for that.
MENTAL NOTE: QA DID NOT BRING THIS UP AND AGENTS SUPPOSED TO BE UPDATED.
QA isn't in sync with eRepsTM, heck even QA guys isn't in synch with each other... o__O
So please define Quality Assurance to me?

I can sleep comfortably now and over the weekend, knowing I wasn't on the new list of people who will be transfered to Cable support.
I like where I am right now, E-Support. And I like to stay here as long as I have not proven to myself that i have achieved or done something siginificant for the team.
I'm not rushing things. Eveything has a place in time.
It will come.

Its about liking what you do. People never really get what they really want or want to do. Sad thing most people never really know what they want to do in life and end up doing a routine job just to say they are doing something with their time.
For the past few weeks , I have been fortunate to like my job. I get too over zealous sometimes, that it makes the best and worst in me. Excitement sometimes I cannot control. People might find it annoying, but what the hell.
It's me. I like what I do. I like to excel most of the time.
That's my drive. That's my motivation.
It's time to shine.

If I had lips upon my flesh
In truth had not trembled so,
I'd kiss thee under a thousand stars,
As they fall upon the wind's sweet gentle blow.
Like the waves of the deepest ocean,
Let my fingers run through your hair,
As soft as the thickest clouds there are,
Clouds upon where castles in the air,
My words are deep but true regret,
My words are lost in tranquil air,
Words whispered upon my quiet lips,
Words in speech perhaps I can never share.
And if my eyes were art for itself,
In truth, you are what I see,
Simple beauty for that is life,
Beauty's own excuse to be...

I'd kiss thee under a thousand stars,
